How do we get started?

Our initial meeting is an introduction to the Griffin Design team where we will discuss the general scope of your project. At following sessions, discussions will focus around options such as the style of cabinetry, counter surfaces and other specific requirements you may be looking for. To assist in planning, preliminary budget figures will be discussed.
To proceed to the next step, Griffin Design asks for payment of a design retainer. This fee covers design time, drafting and product research to produce a custom design. Floor plans, elevations, and a detailed estimate will be created for your approval. The design retainer is fully credited to your account when a contract is signed.

Do we have to find our own contractor for our renovations?

Not necessarily. You may use your own general contractor to carry out the renovation portion of the project or you may elect to have Griffin Design look after the entire job inclusive of all the various subtrades required to complete your project This approach results in a more seamless and unified renovation as you are only dealing with one company.

What makes Griffin Design different from other kitchen and bath companies?

At Griffin Design, we have been renovating kitchens and bathrooms in Victoria for over 25 years. Our award winning Certified Kitchen and Bath Designers create unique and beautiful spaces. Our designers are continually sourcing new materials and work in close partnership with interior decorators, local suppliers and other design professionals to obtain the look and feel wanted for each renovation. At Griffin Design, we take great pride in carrying out your entire project from initial design concepts thru to completion of the project.

What is a CKD and CBD?

The planning of kitchen and bathroom spaces requires unique design skills because of the many complex options available and how each individual uses the space. Certified Kitchen Designers (CKDs) and Certified Bathroom Designers (CBDs) specialize in the design, planning and execution of kitchens, bathrooms and other built-in units throughout the home. Only a select group of expert designers attain the CKD and/or CBD designation. The National Kitchen and Bath Association is the professional organization that supports CKD’s and CBD’s. To maintain membership, continuing education credits must be earned. This insures that designers have current design skills for constantly changing building standards and new products introduced to the marketplace.
